Ro-z (pronounced like "Rosie") Edelston has been an avid theatre technician since the age of 11 when they first discovered the hobby as an after school club. It quickly became the focus of their life, and they went on to earn their BA in theatre production with a focus in lighting design from McDaniel College with departmental honors.
In their time as a technician and designer, Ro-z has found something enjoyable about every single production. They experienced the whirlwind work schedules at their beloved summer camp, Buck's Rock Camp (2011-2012), and at the Summer Professional Training Program at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (2013). Ro-z is currently the proud Lighting Director at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater in Peekskill, NY, a venue which hosts scores of concerts, community and private events, plays and musicals, and other live events from year to year. During the pandemic, Ro-z hosted Virtual Trivia Nights for the Paramount over zoom, worked as an installer for the Great Jack-o-Lantern Blaze as well as American Christmas, LLC, and was the Ropes Course Manager at Rock Hill Camp. They also lit, filmed, and edited a virtual musical at Valhalla High School in Valhalla, NY. Now that venues are back open, Ro-z is back to work with additional freelancing in Westchester and the NY-metro area. When not at the theater, they fill their time with numerous hobbies. Among those are learning to play guitar and bass, crafting, hiking, and cooking experiments. |
